History
Slow Food believes that food should be good, clean and fair:

Good food is delicious and nutritious.

Clean food is created from healthy plants and animals in a way that supports communities and the environment.

Fair food is produced in sustainable systems that pay all participants a living wage and can be accessed by everyone.

In short, Slow Food envisions a world in which all people can eat food that is good for them, good for the people who grow it and good for the planet.
History of Slow Food Southern Arizona
Founded in 1999, SFSA is part of Slow Food International founded in Italy in 1986 for the purpose of preserving local cuisine using local ingredients in the wake of fast-food chains proliferating around the world. Today Slow Food international has over 80,000 members in over 100 countries. Each group holds events that celebrate those who produce artisanal, local products, produce, and work toward a more sustainable environment. Slow Food Southern Arizona President and Executive Chef Barry Infuso is thrilled to be back in action, with three delectable spring events, and more coming in the fall.
"Slow Food of Southern Arizona is back to shine a light on those local purveyors who have managed to keep their doors open & businesses going through the difficult past two years. Our events are designed to help support the work of those local food heroes."
